Xpresspost Shipping:
***Please note that shipping can be quite the stress on baby chicks. We always recommend picking up from our farms or pickup locations for the best outcome. Please consider picking up the chicks whenever possible for their health and safety.
****Please be aware that a 2-5% loss is normal during, or shortly after shipping. We try to send along extra chicks to help with this loss IF we have extra chicks available, but please make note of it, and order extras accordingly. We do not replace for this normal percentage loss.
We now offer 2 day shipping of Chicks through Canada post to BC and Alberta only. They ship to most major cities and pickup is often at your local post office. However, if you are in a remote or northern town, we may need to ship to your closest city center. Please be ready to pickup chicks the morning they arrive at your post office.
Most orders arrive within 48 hours to their new home, so either Wednesday or Thursday and they can arrive anytime from early morning to late at night. We suggest contacting your local post office where you normally pick up deliveries from as they should be going there for you. Most places appreciate a heads up that there are chicks coming. We also write your phone number directly on the box so they can contact you as soon as the chicks arrive. Although a Wednesday delivery is ideal, please note that with proper care and handling from the postal service chicks should be fine up to 72 hours so do not stress if it doesn’t come on Wednesday. Thursday morning seems to be the most common for Alberta and Northern deliveries. This timeline mimics nature where a mama hen will sit with her babies on her nest for several days after they hatch before she takes them out to teach them how to eat and drink. During hatch the yolk is absorbed by the chick and this sustains them for a couple days after they hatch so if they don’t arrive on Wednesday your chicks will usually be just fine.
Please note that although you receive a tracking number, due to the handling of live animals, the boxes are not scanned while in transit. Tracking dates, estimates and locations will NOT be accurate if you check the tracking on the Canada Post website.
When shipping Chicks we suggest to order in multiples of 20-25 for the best shipping outcome. Our boxes hold 25, 50, and 100 chicks nicely
Canada post orders cannot be guaranteed by Canada Post
Canada post take no responsibility for losses. However, correct handling of the chicks by Canada post is important to us. Please let us know if you have any issues so we can pass feedback along. If you are shipping the chicks please note that a 2-5% loss during or shortly after shipping is normal, as chicks are fragile and shipping is stressful. Please order accordingly to reflect this potential loss. We are not able to replace chicks for this normal loss and the shipping company does not cover losses. HOWEVER, if your chicks were mishandled during shipping and you have losses greater than 5%, please contact us so that we can work with you to replace the chicks, and report the mishandling to the Post office.
We want you to feel safe with ordering from us, and are happy to offer store credit or replacement when possible for any major losses do to poor shipping and handling.

We will bill you after we price out the air cargo rates for your birds.
When shipping Chicks we suggest to order in multiples of 20-25 for the best shipping outcome. Our boxes hold 25, 50, and 100 chicks nicely
Air Cargo orders cannot be guaranteed by Tevah acres and are at the customer’s own risk.
Airlines take no responsibility for losses.
