Please keep in mind that these breeds are straightrun, which means they are not sorted by sex at birth. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or exchanges for any roosters. We have decided to only provide straightrun for most breeds as it is difficult and stressful for the young chicks to undergo vent sexing. We want what is best for our chicks and do not believe it is fair to cause them unnecessary pain right after hatching. If it is important to you to avoid roosters, we suggest looking into our autosexing breeds. Roosters can be ethically raised for meat, pet food, and of course make excellent flock guardians. They show great care and affection for their hens and surprisingly, often become some of the best farm friends.
Ameraucana chickens are one of our all time favorite breeds. These are considered an “Americanized” version of Ameraucanas, not always showing colours of the APA, but they breed true with blue beautiful eggs. Our birds come in a variety of colors with strong genes for Lavender, black, blue and Splash, but any variation may be possible. Please note we don't breed for specifically for SOP colors, but for genetic diversity and overall Ameraucana traits such as beards, muffs, legs and tails as well as robustness - this is how Ameraucanas originally started before the 80s, with a wide variety of colors and stunning blue eggs. They are well known for their cute fluffy cheeks and beard.
