These birds are autosexing, meaning the males and females look different upon hatch. Although mostly accurate, this is certainly not always an exact science, please expect about 80% accuracy.

These charming birds are a mix of Light Sussex and Welsummers, resulting in friendly hens known for their beautiful, darker , potentially speckled eggs and high egg production rate. Originating in England over a century ago, this cross continues to amaze with its ability to produce an average of 250-300 eggs per year for several years.

The adult females are a fawn brown color with black necklace and tail feathers.

The hens are wonderful layers, and the roos can be raised for meat production as a slower growing but large bird. Please note that this is a cross breed and as such will not breed true.
