Silver Phoenix Chickens

Silver Phoenix bring elegance and striking feathering to the flock. Best known for the roosters’ long, flowing tails, these beautiful birds are a lovely choice for poultry keepers who enjoy raising something distinctive.

The males develop silver-and-black plumage with sweeping tail and saddle feathers as they mature. Hens have a more understated beauty, with finely patterned feathering and a graceful shape.

Keeping Silver Phoenix

Phoenix are active, alert birds that enjoy room to explore. They can fly well, so a secure, covered run is helpful when keeping them contained.

Clean, dry housing and roomy perches help protect their feathering, particularly as the roosters’ tails develop. Tail length and condition vary with the individual bird, age, and care.

Eggs

Our Silver Phoenix lay white eggs. They contribute to the egg basket, but their main appeal is their beauty and long-tailed character rather than high-volume egg production.

Straight-run chicks

All our Silver Phoenix chicks are sold straight-run, meaning they are not sexed at hatch. Your order may include both hens and roosters, and we cannot guarantee the ratio. We do not vent-sex our chicks.
