🤎 Brown Leghorn Chickens
Our Brown Leghorns are classic, elegant birds known for their beauty, agility, and excellent egg production. They’re a timeless heritage breed that has earned a place on farms around the world for their hardworking nature and lively personalities.
At Tevah Acres, our flock includes both rose comb and single comb Brown Leghorns, providing a bit of variety while maintaining the same reliable qualities this breed is loved for. The rose comb variety adds an extra layer of cold-hardiness, making them a great fit for northern climates, while the single combs retain the traditional look and traits of the Leghorn line.
Brown Leghorns are small, sleek, and quick-moving — always busy, alert, and curious. They’re friendly but independent, preferring to stay active and on the move rather than sitting still. Their light build makes them excellent foragers, and they thrive in both free-range and mixed-flock settings.
Despite their small size, Leghorns are exceptional layers, producing a steady supply of large white eggs, often around 250–300 per year. They tend to begin laying early, maturing around 20 weeks, and are known for keeping production high throughout much of the year.
Their plumage is truly beautiful — rich chestnut brown with black tails and golden highlights, shimmering in the sunlight. Whether you’re looking to add egg diversity, energy, or elegance to your flock, Brown Leghorns are a delightful choice.

💙 A Note on Straight-Run Chicks
All our Brown Leghorn chicks are straight-run, meaning they are not sexed at hatch. We do not vent-sex our chicks, as it’s stressful and can cause harm to day-old birds. Our goal is always the wellbeing of each chick from hatch to home.
If you prefer guaranteed hens, we recommend checking out our sex-linked breeds, which offer higher visual accuracy.
Roosters are small but striking, with tall tails, vibrant red combs, and glossy black-and-gold plumage. They make excellent flock protectors with alert instincts and a confident presence.
