🦃 MiniCLASSIC Turkeys
The MiniCLASSIC turkey is our farm’s smaller, heartier celebration bird — compact in size but big on flavour and quality. These turkeys were bred to provide the perfect balance between efficiency, meat yield, and the rich, traditional taste that makes home-raised turkey so special.
With its compact build, the MiniCLASSIC offers maximum harvesting flexibility and excellent feed efficiency without sacrificing meat quantity or tenderness. It thrives in free-range or pasture-based systems, making it a wonderful fit for small farms and diversified homesteads.
MiniCLASSIC turkeys finish beautifully around 16 weeks, with toms averaging 20 lbs and hens about 12 lbs. Their meat-to-bone ratio is superb, meaning you get more usable meat and less waste — exactly what you want to be paying for. The smaller frame also makes them ideal for family-sized roasts and holiday tables.
Most store-bought turkeys are fast-growing commercial breeds, harvested very young before they’ve fully filled out, resulting in large bones and less usable meat. By contrast, the MiniCLASSIC is a genetically smaller bird with finer bone structure, bred to reach the perfect “table size” without sacrificing breast width or tenderness.
They are sturdy, hardy, and full of personality, thriving in free-range environments and gaining beautiful flavour from the natural forage they enjoy. They love alfalfa and dandelion greens, nibble on burdock, and happily come to the kitchen door for handouts of fruit and vegetables.
In the kitchen, you’ll find that these birds roast a little faster than typical store-bought turkeys. The smaller bones allow heat to penetrate more evenly, keeping the breast meat juicy while ensuring the stuffing cooks perfectly.
We’ve converted many “not-a-turkey-fan” friends into MiniCLASSIC believers — once you’ve tasted one, it’s hard to go back.
