🎀 Polish Chickens

Get ready to fall in love with the showstoppers of the chicken world! Polish chickens are instantly recognizable for their beautiful crests and sweet, curious personalities. They’re a true favourite for anyone who loves chickens with character — friendly, gentle, and full of charm.

Our flock is a mixed pen of Tolbunt Polish and Buff Laced Polish, which means our chicks hatch in a wide range of light golden tones. Some are very pale, others show soft speckling or delicate lacing, and some develop the deeper brownish Tolbunt patterning as they mature. Every hatch is a surprise, and each bird grows into a unique, eye-catching beauty.

Polish chickens are small to medium-sized birds, typically 4–5 lbs, and have the trademark V-shaped comb and small wattles that help protect them from frostbite. They do well in both confined and free-range setups, preferring dry, draft-free environments. They are not known for broodiness, making them excellent consistent layers for their size.

Hens typically lay small white eggs, averaging 150–200 eggs per year. They may take a little time to start laying, but their personality more than makes up for it — these birds are endlessly entertaining, social, and surprisingly calm once familiar with their surroundings.

💙 A Note on Straight-Run Chicks

All our Polish chicks are straight-run, meaning they are not sexed at hatch. We do not vent-sex our chicks, as it’s stressful and can cause harm to day-old birds. Our goal is always the wellbeing of each chick from hatch to home.

If you prefer guaranteed hens, we recommend checking out our sex-linked breeds, which offer higher visual accuracy.

Roosters, when raised ethically, make excellent flock protectors and can also be raised for meat or pet food. They are often some of the most watchful and charming birds in the yard.
